CMI Internship
What type of breed are we looking for?
Love pets & want to revolutionize the pet food industry? Do you find yourself endlessly intrigued by the intricate web of human decision-making, especially when it comes to the fascinating world of brands and consumer choices? Great, keep on reading then.
We are looking for a Consumer and Market Insights intern (minimum 3 months). You will carry the voice of pet parents within our organization, translating their needs into brand development opportunities.
You will mainly work with the consumer and market insights team (a small team of 3), that’s part of the bigger brand and product team.
At Edgard & Cooper consumer and market insights are a vital starting point for all our product and brand decisions. You will have a direct impact on the development of new products, how we talk to consumers and our brand identity (e.g. communication, commercials, packaging designs), amongst other things.
What is in your bowl?
In short, you get tails wagging by bringing customer-centricity into brand development:
- Support in the full cycle of qualitative and quantitative market research.
- Brewing up the perfect research approach for the research questions at hand (crafting surveys, sculpting interview guides).
- Qualitative fieldwork (conducting interviews, observing consumers, …).
- Conducting quantitative fieldwork (orchestrating online surveys).
- Analysing, writing actionable recommendations.
- Use your marketeer mindset to transform insights into breakthrough products and impactful communications (together with the team).
- Sniffing out secondary research (online data & reports, trends).
- We’re a scale up, you’re a CMI intern – life is full of surprises, so we might throw in some other fun stuff to do.
What skills and tricks should you bring
- Currently pursuing studies in marketing, economic sciences, social sciences (such as business psychology), or related fields.
- Proficiency in English is a must, and knowledge of either Dutch or French is essential.
- You’re interested in qualitative and quantitative research. A first experience with market research (in your studies) is a plus.
- Sniffing out secondary research (online data & reports, trends).
- You're eager to delve deeper into understanding consumer behaviors and attitudes, and are intrigued by brands, consumer goods, and of course pets.
- Familiarity with one or more research tools and software, such as SPSS, Q, Excel, etc., is a plus.
- You have an analytical mindset.
- You genuinely care about sustainability and social impact (you are aligned with B-corp values).
