WHAT IT'S LIKE TO INTERN AT EDGARD & COOPER
Curious what it’s like to intern at a fast-growing scale-up? Here at Edgard & Cooper, we’re all learning and exploring together. We offer different internships in different Packs and we really value the meaningful work that our interns accomplish every day.
Carlota landed an internship here in London. As she is going into her final year studying Business Administration in the University of Bath, we are looking for someone who will share the passion for our Brand as much as Carlota did. In short, our Brand Pack members are our creative pet foodies and the gate keepers of the Edgard & Cooper brand. They ensure our unique brand identity is communicated across every touchpoint with our consumers.
In this blog, Carlota gives an insightful peek into the life of a Brand Marketing intern!
How has your internship at Edgard & Cooper been so far?
My internship at Edgard & Cooper has exceeded all my expectations. It has been very rewarding, and I have learned so much from different aspects of the field from marketing practices & essentials to communications between stakeholders.
The team has been very welcoming and working across different markets and packs has also been very interesting. Highlights would include trips to Belgium where we have done some very fun teambuilding activities including Stand Up Paddle in Mechelen. I have also thoroughly enjoyed being a part of photoshoots, where I have helped with managing, organising, and modelling! Not only photoshoots, but I have also been lucky enough to be on a TV advert set which was amazing!
Working alongside my manager has also been extremely rewarding as I have learned loads from her and have been developing my knowledge everyday thanks to her!
Which valuable trick did you learn during your internship?
I don’t think I could choose just one thing! I have learned a great deal about the brand world. How a small detail can make a huge difference to a project, campaign, or even social media post. I consider that I have learned how to manage various stakeholders and communicate effectively with them both in person and online. I was also taught how to professionally create and present a presentation to a given audience which I believe will be very useful to me in the future.
Furthermore, I have developed my marketing knowledge beyond what I have been taught at University in terms of focuses within the marketing funnel and how to approach each pillar depending on the desired outcome.
Finally, I have learned how important it is to have companies like E&C in the pet industry as there are some very shocking realities going on where pets’ wellbeing, the planet and overall pet world is not as looked after as they should be, so thank you E&C!!
What makes interning here unique?
The fact that E&C is a scale-up makes it a dynamic environment to be working in that is very fast-paced and exciting. There is no boring day as there is always something to be focusing on and I think that’s a really good aspect to the internship. Another unique factor about E&C is how friendly, helpful, and hardworking the pack is! I have always felt supported and a part of the team. And of course, I cannot furrrget to mention how fun it is to work with our four-legged friends!
What advice do you have for candidates looking to intern at E&C?
My advice would be to go for it! Everyone is very welcoming, and you will not feel alone or useless at all. No question is a stupid question, and your voice will be heard. Time will fly by so make the most of every moment and get as involved with everything as much as possible! I have met some amazing people and I would definitely recommend this placement to anyone who is outgoing, hardworking, dedicated, creative and willing to learn and absorb as much as possible! You won’t regret it :)
Cats off for all the hard work, Carlota!
